Quick Verdict: Oscar nominated, oh yeah.
This is the film about a film about a book that becomes the film about a film about the making of a film. You follow? I thought so.
Starring and directed by Ben Stiller, it has a stellar cast including Robert Downey Jr, Brandon T. Jackson, Jay Baruchel, Jack Black, Christine Taylor, Matthew McConaughey, Bill Hader, Nick Nolte, Danny McBride, Steve Coogan and Tom Cruise.
‘I’ll cradle the balls, stroke the shaft, work the pipe, and swallow the gravy.’ One of my friends has said this line more than once from the film.
I watched this once when it came out and had forgotten about it myself. We decided to watch it the other night and it was so much better than I remember. It’s peak Stiller and Tom Cruise is the big surprise as Les Grossman (pictured below).
The film had me in stitches, and I don’t think I’ve laughed so much before at a child being thrown from a bridge. (Into a river and survives, before you think I was laughing at the kid dying)
I also think my wife enjoyed it. Pretty much everyday since we watched it again I’ve heard her saying ‘cover me, limp dick fuck-ups.’ Charming!
