This film was made in 2012 and I probably watched the trailer at least a year ago. I couldn’t wait to see it. Unfortunately it didn’t get released in Britain until about five months ago.

Young magazine intern Darius, spots a classified ad in the paper ‘WANTED: Someone to go back in time with me. This is not a joke. You’ll be paid after we get back. Must bring your own weapons. Safety not guaranteed. I have only done this once before.’ And so, with two colleagues, they go and investigate.

That is all I need to tell you about the plot. This film has everything you need. You’ll fall in love with the characters. Jake Johnson is great and Mark Duplass puts in a sterling performance and although Karan Soni is brilliant as Arnau, the other intern, the star performance goes to the talented lead, Aubrey Plaza.

Now, I love my quirky low budget independent films, and when I came across this film I was so eager to see it. About five months ago, my friend told me he had seen a film he thought I’d like. It turned out he was talking about Safety not Guaranteed. Jealous he’d managed to see it before me, I eventually tracked it down on Netflix. I loved it. If you are wondering whether the Jurassic Park franchise is in good hands with director Colin Trevorrow. I suggest you hunt this film down.

It’ll make you laugh, maybe make you cry, but above all, it will make you cheer.
